Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus predicted the landing spot for several of the top free agents in 2019 and has defensive end Frank Clark joining the Cleveland Browns

Last offseason was a lot of fun for Cleveland Browns fans as general manager John Dorsey made many moves to overhaul the roster that had just gone 1-31 the previous two seasons. This coming offseason is expected to be just as — if not more — enjoyable as the Browns once again have a lot of cap space to work with.

Not only do they have space, but there’s a lot of buzz building around this team. With the way Baker Mayfield played as a rookie, players will start to gravitate to Cleveland — and of course, the cap space will help because money still speaks volumes.

With all that being said, the Browns could be big players in free agency and Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus (subscription required) seems to believe they will land a big fish at defensive end. While projecting where many top targets will land this offseason, Renner picks Cleveland as the destination for Seattle Seahawks edge rusher Frank Clark.

"“The Browns need someone to pair with Myles Garrett, and John Dorsey will certainly be one of the GM’s willing to take in Clark’s checkered past.” — Renner, Pro Football Focus"

Renner mentioned Clark’s checkered past which included a domestic violence arrest as well as a charge for home invasion while with the Michigan Wolverines. Clark also came under fire for a tweet he sent to a female reporter who criticized the Seahawks for drafting him.

As for Cleveland GM John Dorsey, people are tagging him as the top executive for landing troubled players. While that’s not the most flattering label to be tagged with, Dorsey has gone after Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, and Antonio Callaway — all players who came into the league with their own red flags.

Clark has remained relatively quiet in Seattle outside of the tweet that was in poor taste. And on the field, he’s developed into a stellar pass rusher who has recorded 32 sacks in the past three seasons. Should he join the Browns, they would have a dominant dup with him and Myles Garrett.
