The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the Good Morning Football team looking at Baker Mayfield’s defining moment

At this point in the offseason, many of us are looking back over the 2018 season. For Cleveland Browns fans, that includes a lot of reminiscing about their new franchise quarterback — Baker Mayfield.

And they’re not the only ones reminiscing as the ‘Good Morning Football’ crew on NFL Network also looked back over the rookie season that Mayfield had. In a recent segment, three members of the team picked their defining moment for the young signal-caller.

For Kay Adams, it was a Week 14 3rd-and-17 conversion against the Carolina Panthers where Mayfield calmly throws a 51-yard TD pass to Landry. For Peter Schrager, it was the following week when Mayfield led an early scoring drive on a pass to Breshad Perriman.

What was Baker Mayfield’s defining moment of 2018? — ClevelandBrowns.com

"“The “Good Morning Football” crew looks at their favorite plays from Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield’s 2018 season.”"

While none of the answers are wrong, the Week 3 win stands out for me. Baker came out in that game with zero reps with the starters and played like a seasoned vet. He deserves a lot of credit for how he handled that situation and it was that game when everyone should have seen he was the truth at the quarterback position.

Brian Burns to Cleveland Browns in 2019 NFL Mock Draft

We looked at a recent mock draft which had the Cleveland Browns selecting Florida State edge rusher Brian Burns at No. 17. It’s not the favorite pick among mocks, but it does make plenty of sense.

Greg Robinson’s 1-year deal with the Browns is worth up to $9 million – starter money — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“The base salary is worth $7 million and the incentives are worth up to $2 million, as first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The $9 million puts him around 18th among the highest-paid tackles in the NFL. No. 1 is the Titans’ Taylor Lewan, who averages $16 million a year.”"

That’s an awful lot of money for Robinson, but there’s no denying the offense was successful with him out there at left tackle. Cleveland also has the cap space to make this move work and not suffer too much should it fail.

Browns should pursue a trade for Bengals WR John Ross

John Ross was a bad pick by the Cincinnati Bengals and they’re now reportedly ready to move on from him. Dan Justik thinks the Browns could use his speed and should pursue a trade for the former top-10 pick.
