Decision makers in the NFL are converging in Indianapolis as the 2019 NFL Combine is ready to get started. With that being the case, many coaches and general managers are speaking with the press and both John Dorsey and Freddie Kitchens took some time to talk about the Cleveland Browns.

Dorsey, the team’s general manager, issued a challenge to one player to improve in a very important aspect of his job. Head coach Freddie Kitchens took a different approach as he was letting Baker Mayfield know he needed to take some time for himself.

Freddie Kitchens’ offseason order to Baker Mayfield: Take a breath — Pat McManamon, ESPN

"“Kitchens told Mayfield to get away from the game for a couple of months, to give his mind and body a break. He knew that Mayfield had gone from his final college season at Oklahoma to preparing for the combine and draft and then to OTAs, minicamp, training camp and the 2018 season.”"

This is sound advice from the young coach. Many expect athletes to be working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but they’re human like all of us. Some time to relax and refresh is good for everyone.

Attorney caught on tape says Cleveland police disposed of weed found in stolen bag of Browns safety Jabrill Peppers — Adam Ferrise, Cleveland.com

"“A man posing as Cleveland Browns safety Jabrill Peppers’s uncle and financial advisor surreptitiously recorded a phone call with attorney Kevin Spellacy where the long-time attorney says that police disposed of some marijuana found in a bag stolen from Peppers’ Range Rover.”"

This is a bizarre story that even has some tragic news surrounding it. It’s a lot to take in, but worth the read.

John Dorsey to meet with Jamie Collins’ agent Friday about his Browns’ future and other NFL combine highlights — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“Dorsey said he’ll meet Friday with Bus Cook, the agent of linebacker Jamie Collins, about the ‘long-term plan,’ which means they’re thinking about cutting him. Collins is due to make $10.5 million in base salary this season, and the Browns likely don’t want to pay him that much. The Browns can either restructure him or cut him without taking too much of a cap hit this year.”"

There’s been a lot of speculation in regards to Jamie Collins future with the Browns. He led the team in tackles last season, but he doesn’t make the splash plays like he used to — and his contract is starting to become an issue.

John Dorsey calls out David Njoku

During his recent press conference, John Dorsey had some words of encouragement for tight end David Njoku. Dorsey offered a challenge to the young tight end, asking him to work on his run blocking going forward.

Drew Stanton trusted by Freddie Kitchens

While many of us are wondering what the quarterback position could look like behind Baker Mayfield, Freddie Kitchens is singing the praises of Drew Stanton. The two have a long history which goes back to their days with the Arizona Cardinals, so Kitchen’s faith in Stanton seems logical.
