Cleveland Browns: Joint 7-round mock draft after 2019 NFL Scouting Combine
By Cory Kinnan
Randy: Jaylon Ferguson, DE, Louisiana Tech
There may be bigger needs than defensive end, but Jaylon Ferguson is arguably a first-round talent and becomes a steal here. He went back for his senior season and it ended up being the best decision he could have made as he broke out in 2018. He was disinvited to the Combine, but should show out on his Pro Day.
Cory: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina
With Rashard Higgins likely back on a on year tender, and decisions still to be made with Breshad Perriman, the Browns look to be in the market for some long-term stability at the wide receiver position. Jarvis Landry is set to have no guaranteed money after 2019, around the time Dorsey has to think about locking up Myles Garrett to a new contract, so it seems doubtful we see Landry in Cleveland for more than one more season. Deebo Samuel comes from the same mold as Antonio Callaway and would give Baker Mayfield another explosive weapon to play with.
Shane: Yodny Cajuste, OT, West Virginia
Signing Greg Robinson doesn’t mean he’s the left tackle of the future, and just because Chris Hubbard is under contract doesn’t mean he can’t lose his spot. The Browns have a need at both tackle spots and Cajuste has the ability to play both spots. Protecting Baker should be the teams top priority this offseason.
