Cleveland Browns: Bradley Roby would be a nice addition
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns are reportedly interested in Bradley Roby, and it’s easy to see why as the veteran corner would be a nice addition to their secondary
With one day done in the negotiation period of free agency, the Cleveland Browns roster is no different than the day before. Well, technically no team has a different roster as there can be no official signings until the new season kicks off on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Even with that being the case, the Browns still haven’t come to terms with anyone as of yet. However, they are kicking the tires on a few players such as linebacker C.J. Mosley and wide receiver Tyrell Williams.
Those aren’t the only names to watch though as James Palmer from the NFL Network says that Cleveland is also one of the teams showing interest in veteran cornerback Bradley Roby.
While the Browns have competition for his services, Roby would be a nice addition to their defense. In 2018, they saw improvement in the secondary thanks to the arrival of No. 4 overall pick Denzel Ward and free agent pick up Terrance Mitchell. Cleveland also added T.J. Carrie, but they could stand to upgrade from him as he was up and down a season ago.
As for Roby, he would help as he can play outside as well as inside and has been a strong presence for the Broncos ever since they drafted him 31st overall in 2014 out of Ohio State.
For his career, Roby has 238 tackles and seven interceptions. He’s returned two of his picks for touchdowns, both of which came in 2016.
