Cleveland Browns now have third best odds to win AFC Championship
By Dan Justik
Following the addition of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the Cleveland Browns odds to make it to the Super Bowl in 2019 have dramatically increased.
The Cleveland Browns created headlines when they made the blockbuster trade for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Tuesday night. Despite the rumors about this move over the past week, the move created chaos in the NFL world.
With the trade, the Browns appear poised to make a deep playoff run in 2019. In fact, the Las Vegas sports books seem to be preparing for the Browns to be a popular pick to make a deep playoff run next season.
After the addition of Beckham, the Browns odds to win the AFC Championship increased from 12/1 to 7/1. They now have the third best odds to win the AFC next season, behind the two teams who played for the AFC Championship last season.

This off-season, the Cleveland Browns have slowly been emerging as the favorites to win the AFC North in 2019. The Browns have been aggressively adding talent to their roster while the rest of the division has been letting starting talent leave.
The addition of Beckham makes the Browns offense potentially one of the most dynamic offenses in the entire league in 2019. Not only have they bolstered their passing attack, but they have two of the best running backs in the league in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt – when Hunt will be allowed to step on the playing field.
Before the addition of Beckham, it was obvious general manager John Dorsey was making it a priority to bolster the defense. In the last week, Cleveland has added Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson, creating a defensive line that will make life miserable for opposing offenses.
If the Browns are able to live up to the hype in 2019 and are able to reach the playoffs, it would be the first time Cleveland has made the postseason since 2002. And if they are able to win the AFC Championship, it will be the first time the franchise has made the Super Bowl in its history.
With the new league year opening Wednesday, these odds are subject to change. Considering how aggressive Dorsey has already been this off-season, it would not be surprising to see him make another big move that would shake the NFL world again.
