Cleveland Browns: Peter King sings the praises of John Dorsey
By Randy Gurzi
John Dorsey has done a lot of work to turn the Cleveland Browns into a competitive team and Peter King of Football Morning in America fame has taken notice of the transformation
This time last season, we were all talking about the Cleveland Browns trying to erase the stench of a 0-16 campaign — which came on the heels of a 1-15 season. With just one win in two years, fans were desperate for any kind of hope whatsoever that better days were ahead.
Most looked to general manager John Dorsey, a trusted decision maker who has had plenty of success in the NFL for several years. Now looking back on where we were before the 2018 season till now, we see that those who believed in Dorsey were not misguided.
Dorsey has landed the Browns their best quarterback since their return to football, a Pro Bowl rookie cornerback, and another rookie running back who just missed the 1,000-yard mark. He also turned a former bad pick — DeShone Kizer — into a ball-hawking free safety in Damarious Randall.

Then just before free agency officially opened, Dorsey pulled off his biggest coup when he got Odell Beckham, Jr. from the New York Giants. Now, this team is suddenly the favorite in the AFC North, and everyone is taking notice — including Peter King from Football Morning in America, who joined Cleveland Browns Daily and said the team is ‘night and day’ from where they were before Dorsey.
"Basically, have you felt what you’ve done in the last — you know, you’ve been on the job 15 months. Look at this team. It’s just a night and day different team.” — King said on Cleveland Browns Daily according to Nick Shook of ClevelandBrowns.com"
King went on to say Dorsey deflected any praise, believing the team hasn’t accomplished anything. There’s some truth to that as they did finish 7-8-1 last season, but the buzz is real. The roster is different and most importantly, the players are more confident than any Cleveland team in recent history.
Hopefully, the team shares Dorsey’s desire to keep it going and not be content with simply being better. This roster has huge potential to be great, and the guy in charge wants that more than any of us.
