Round 5, Pick 170: Chase Hansen, LB, Utah

In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Browns felt like they hit gold when they landed Genard Avery out of Memphis in the fifth round. Avery will likely compete with free agent pick-up Adarius Taylor for snaps, but it would be smart to add even more depth.

Enter Chase Hansen from Utah. Hansen had 114 tackles and five sacks for the Utes in 2018 and could prove to be another steal in day three.

Round 6, Pick 189: Jalen Jelks, EDGE, Oregon

Thanks to the addition of Olivier Vernon, the Browns don’t have a lot of worry about the defensive end spot. They could still look to add a developmental player to try and groom as a potential pass rushing specialist, which is why they grab Jalen Jelks in the sixth round.

Jelks had seven sacks in 2017 but took a step back with just 3.5 last year. He’s still a player scouts like due to his length and insane quickness.

Round 7, Pick 221: Juston Christian, WR, Marist

Brad Kelly of The Draft Network called Juston Christian of Marist the “best receiver prospect nobody is talking about.” He’s a former track star with blazing speed. He wasn’t invited to the Combine, but he could find a home in the NFL thanks to his ability to run right past defenders.
