The Cleveland Browns solidify their defensive backfield and add some players to develop on their offensive line in this early April 2019 NFL Mock Draft

The month of the 2019 NFL Draft is upon us and Cleveland Browns fans are beyond eager to see how things will unfold during the weekend of April 25-27. This excitement is due to the hope that general manager John Dorsey has instilled in the once downtrodden franchise.

During his first offseason with the team, Dorsey completely overhauled the entire roster. He added stars such as receiver Jarvis Landry as well as safety Damarious Randall. Then he owned the draft as he brought in Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, Antonio Callaway, and Genard Avery.

As good as those players were, the No. 1 move he made was picking up Baker Mayfield first overall. Dorsey made this move against the grain as most pundits seemed to be in agreement that Sam Darnold should have been the guy. Dorsey was proven right as Mayfield broke the NFL record for touchdown passes by a rookie and has the team trending up.

The GM has continued his success this offseason as he’s brought in Olivier Vernon, Sheldon Richardson, and Odell Beckham, Jr. Those moves weren’t cheap though, and one of the sacrifices included their first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Even without that pick, Dorsey should be able to continue to add talent to this roster. Here, we try and predict how all seven rounds will unfold in this early-April Browns mock draft.
