Third Quarter

Week 10: Buffalo – Win

The Browns head back to First Energy Stadium to start the back half of the season and they will take care of business against the Bills. Baker Mayfield will face yet another quarterback from the class of 2018 in Josh Allen. Allen will undoubtedly be pointing out to Bills management the abundance of offensive talent that will be surrounding Mayfield. Oh did we mention Kareem Hunt would be scheduled to make his debut?

Week 11: Pittsburgh – Win

My opinion of the Steelers is one of respect. They are not going to lose this division on paper or in the media. For the Browns to claim the title, they have to drive a stake through Dracula’s heart. Yes, I just made an overly dramatic reference. But that’s what it will take. Browns fans of a certain age remember the 51-0 beat down the Browns put on the Steelers in the 1989 season opener. I’m not predicting anything like that, but I see the Browns firmly announcing to the division that they are now the favorite – and it starts here.

Week 12: Miami – Win

Miami is expected to be “tanking for Tua” and the Browns will happily oblige them. Next.

Week 13: @ Pittsburgh – Loss

I know, I know. For all my bravado about kicking the Steelers butts in Week 11, this will be a tough turnaround. The Browns play the Steelers for the second time in three weeks, but also on a short week. The Browns travel to the ketchup bottle to play the Steelers on Thursday Night Football (their last prime time appearance, he says winking to NBC and flex scheduling). The Steelers make what will be their last stand for the division and get the win.

Third quarter record: 3-1

Overall record: 8-4
