2nd Round

2015: Mitch Morse, Offensive Lineman

Since being drafted by Dorsey and the Chiefs in 2015, Mitch Morse has been a regular starter on the Kansas City offensive line. In his first two seasons in the NFL, Morse started 31 games for the Chiefs. He then was only able to play in seven games in 2017 and 11 games in 2018. When he is healthy and on the field, Morse is a sturdy lineman. Morse is a reliable center, which is why the Bills signed him to a four-year, $44.5 million contract this offseason.

2016: Chris Jones, Defensive Tackle

Chris Jones was one of Dorsey’s best picks during his time as the Kansas City general manager. Jones played in every game his first two seasons in the league and made a decent impact, making 60 combined tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. But last season was when Jones emerged as one of the best defensive tackles in the league, making 40 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. The Chiefs traded out of the first round in this draft, but Dorsey still managed to find an impact player with his first selection in 2016.

2017: Tanoh Kpassagnon, Defensive End

Dorsey may have nailed his second-round selection the year prior, but he took a big chance on his 2017 second-round selection. Tanoh Kpassagnon was drafted in the second-round because of his potential, but he has yet to show that potential in the NFL. Kpassagnon has played 29 career games, making 17 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks. The Chiefs will be hoping for a big leap in his development or Kpassagnon’s time in Kansas City could be running out.

2018: Austin Corbett, Guard

Austin Corbett was seen as an interesting pick as soon as the selection was announced. Because the Browns were needing to find Joe Thomas’ replacement, it was expected they would draft an offensive lineman. Corbett was a curious selection because the belief was he would need to kick inside to succeed in the NFL. He was unable to play tackle and was buried on the depth chart behind a solid interior offensive line. Corbett will get his first real chance in 2019 to show if Dorsey and the Browns were right in selecting him in the second-round.

2018: Nick Chubb, Running Back

Although there are questions about Dorsey’s first second-round selection with the Browns, there is no doubt he nailed his second selection in the round. Nick Chubb played few snaps to start his rookie season, but used those snaps and turned in multiple explosive runs. After seeing his ability, the Browns made Chubb the starter in the middle of the season, and it paid off for the offense. On 192 carries, Chubb rushed for 996 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 20 receptions for 179 yards and two touchdowns.
