Mack Wilson, Alabama

Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson is widely viewed as the best linebacker remaining in the draft. Despite a run on defensive players on the first night of the draft, Wilson did not hear his name called in the first 32 selections.

More from Browns Draft

Wilson started one season for the Crimson Tide and did not have the type of season he was expected to have. Playing as a reserve linebacker in 2017, Wilson showed plenty of potential. However, he did not take the next step in his development in 2018 like he was expected to.

In his one season starting for Alabama, Wilson made 65 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, and five passes defensed. In 33 career games, Wilson made 113 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, one sack, six interceptions, and seven passes defensed.

Wilson has the potential of being a three-down player, as shown by his six interceptions. He plays well in coverage and is able to run with tight ends and running backs. The biggest concern with Wilson is his inconsistent tackling and overrunning plays.

If the Browns plan on selecting Wilson, they may have to move up from the 49th overall pick to get him. With linebacker being one of the weakest positions in the draft, teams may try to get the best remaining linebackers early during Day 2.
