The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including one person being less than impressed with Mack Wilson’s tape study

There were two players who slipped to the Cleveland Browns in the 2019 NFL Draft. One was LSU cornerback Greedy Williams, who they moved up to pick 46 in order to grab. The other was Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson, who somehow lasted until Round 5.

Mack was expected to go much higher than that, but one writer thinks a lack of passion or ability to play quick had something to do with his fall. Terry Pluto recently took some time to study both Wilson and third-round pick Sione Takitaki.

He admits he’s no scout, but did see a big discrepancy between the two players. In fact, he even called Wilson’s film study “underwhelming.”

Cleveland Browns: Video study loves Sione Takitaki, but Mack Wilson looks underwhelming – Terry Pluto, Cleveland.com

"“If you look at Wilson’s tape, it’s a major contrast to Takitaki. The Alabama linebacker doesn’t seem as quick. Or at least, he doesn’t play with the same passion. That’s probably why he slipped into the fifth round.”"

Pluto had no idea who Takitaki was when the pick was announced but seemed much more impressed with his work than what he saw out of Wilson. Both could end up being fixtures in the Browns defense one day, but for now, Wilson doesn’t have as many believers it would seem.

Cleveland Browns odds on favorite to make playoffs: Crowquill — Ted Crow, The Plain Dealer

"“According to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, the Cleveland Browns are the most likely team from the AFC North to make the playoffs this season. The Browns are given even odds compared to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ +110, the Baltimore Ravens’ +180 and the Cincinnati Bengals’ +700.”"

The Browns are winning over everyone except Colin Cowherd. It’s getting to the point where it would be shocking to see them miss out on the postseason this year than if they did make it. That’s a new feeling in The Land.

Cowherd claims Freddie Kitchens will be fired soon, Baker Mayfield destroys him

Colin Cowherd just doesn’t learn. He keeps coming after the Browns and when he does, Baker Mayfield is always there to let him know that his opinion doesn’t matter. It happened again over the weekend, with Mayfield destroying Cowherd twice on Twitter.

Dan Justik talks about Jhavonte Dean, an undrafted free agent from Miami (Fla.), who has been surprising people with his play so far in minicamp. The cornerback room is much more crowded now than it was before the draft, but that doesn’t mean he can’t do enough to make the roster.
