1. David Njoku, Tight End

The No. 1 player on our list with something to prove is the last of their three first-round picks from 2017, David Njoku. The 29th player chosen that season, the Miami tight end came into the league incredibly young, but with plenty of talent.

He’s a receiving threat who has 88 receptions and 1,025 yards with eight touchdowns in two seasons. While he’s been a solid target, he hasn’t been great in the running game. That topic was even brought up by general manager John Dorsey, who issued a challenge to the third-year player to improve in this area while speaking at a press conference earlier in the offseason.

"At the very end of today’s press conference at the 2019 NFL Combine, Dorsey was asked about improving the team. He addressed the play of David Njoku in particular. He stated, “I challenge him here today, you know what, improve your run blocking.” — DPD’s Joel Cade on John Dorsey’s press conference comments"

While Njoku is in no danger of losing his job, it’s never fun to be called out by the boss. And while Dorsey didn’t attack Njoku, he did put him on notice with his comment.

Hopefully, this will be enough to motivate the young man, but this season got really big for him before it even began.
