Mike Silver has always been a huge critic of the Cleveland Browns and for some reason, thought it would be fun to challenge new colleague Joe Thomas on Twitter

Joe Thomas is going to be in the Hall of Fame for what he did on the football field. The No. 3 overall pick out of Wisconsin played his entire 11-year career with the Cleveland Browns and in that time, he racked up all sorts of accolades.

The stalwart left tackle was the first player in NFL history to play 10,000 consecutive snaps, a streak that ended at 10,363 in 2017. During that span, he made 10 Pro Bowls and was named a First-Team All-Pro seven times.

After his incredible career ended, Thomas became known for his work on his podcast, The ThomaHawk Show, which he co-hosts with former teammate Andrew Hawkins. Now, he finds himself set to be a regular on Thursday Night Football and is going to be seen a lot more on NFL Network.

There he will join Mike Silver, who is also on the NFL Network. Silver does not have a lot of accolades. What he does have is a weird hatred for the Cleveland Browns that he just can’t stop showing at all turns.

Silver is good friends with former head coach Hue Jackson and since the team fired Hue, Silver went on a tirade. He’s attacked the city of Cleveland and even refused to give the team credit on air as an improved franchise — growing annoyed at his colleagues as he felt they were trying to bait him into actually giving the Browns some credit.

There’s no secret of this either, as Silver was mocked by fellow NFL Network employee Rich Eisen when he attacked Baker Mayfield’s professionalism.

Now, he decided it would be a good idea to try and poke the bear with Joe Thomas — who responded beautifully. Silver tried to call Thomas a ‘rookie’ on NFL Network and said that his co-workers may not talk to him. Thomas apparently loved the sound of that.

This was clearly all in fun between Thomas and Silver but is brought out the supporters of Thomas on Twitter. People came to his side quickly and let Silver know that they don’t appreciate his thoughts. Some of the comments are pretty amusing and worth the scroll — provided you aren’t blocked by Silver.

I mean, with how he’s taunted Cleveland fans in the past, he had to know this was coming. It’s almost as if he enjoys it.
