The new star: Odell Beckham, Jr.

Odell Beckham, Jr. had been rumored to be on the move for a while and a lot of that started last year when he and his best friend, Jarvis Landry, started working out together in the offseason. Eventually, the Browns desire to land OBJ broke the New York Giants as they finally pulled the trigger, sending him to Cleveland in exchange for a first and third round pick as well as safety Jabrill Peppers.

Knowing he could be on the move, OBJ had a short list of places he was willing to go and the Browns made the cut due to his friendship with Landry as well as the fact he already worked out with several members of the team including quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Now, the two are back on the same field for the first time since their LSU days and provide a lot of problems for opposing teams. Beckham enters this season averaging 92.8 yards per game and has 44 touchdowns in five seasons. There’s no doubt he’s the best pass catcher this team has had in recent memory and he will make everyone better — especially Landry.

Not only are these two great friends, but they also complement one another very well on the field. OBJ is great no matter the route, but he really excels downfield. As for Landry, he works better on the underneath routes, which is where he made his living for the Dolphins. Seeing how well these two can work together in this offense, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see each of them named to the Pro Bowl following 2019.
