Since the beginning of Cleveland Browns OTA’s, one player who has emerged as a surprising standout has been defensive back Jermaine Whitehead.

Primarily playing in a special teams role for Cleveland last season, Whitehead is seeing a bigger role in Steve Wilks’ defense. But not only is he playing in a bigger role, but Wilks believes Whitehead is one of the leaders of the defense.

With a defense boasting plenty of talent at all three levels, Whitehead’s emergence has come out of nowhere. But by the time training camp rolls around, Whitehead could find himself on the field often.
