The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Odell Beckham, Jr. defending his decision to skip OTAs

A lot has been made about Odell Beckham, Jr. since he was traded to the Cleveland Browns, but that was to be expected. As Cleveland fans found out last season with Baker Mayfield, big stars attract big reactions.

Some are good, and many are not. Unfortunately, when OBJ is in the news it’s not always the good reactions. Again, Browns fans have seen this as of late as every move of his has been picked apart — more than it should.

After a long offseason of speculating about what he wants and whether or not he’s committed, Beckham reiterated on Wednesday that his only focus is winning football games. And he’s excited to do that with the Browns. He also addressed missing OTAs and defended his workout routine.

Odell Beckham Jr. defends his training schedule, decision to skip Browns’ OTAs — Lorenzo Reyes, USA TODAY

"“Everybody knows their bodies,” Beckham said Wednesday after practice. “I know my body better than anybody else, so I know what it takes to get me to top physical condition, mental condition, too. All of those things. This isn’t my first rodeo. It’s not my first go-round. I just know what it takes to get there.”"

The quote from OBJ was similar to what his defenders said when they were hounded again and again about his absence. He showed up ready to go, which should have ended the questions — but as we are learning with OBJ, the microscope will never be put away.

OBJ focused on ultimate goal: ‘This game is about winning’ — P.J. Ziegler, FOX 8 Cleveland

"“I’m beyond excited for the opportunity I have to start over with a new team,” said OBJ. “The goal is always going to be the same: to hang banners; that is what you play this game for, but we have a lot of expectations and a lot of work to do.”"

After not showing up for OTAs, Beckham appeared at minicamp and was ready to roll. Everyone who knew him said not to worry because he would be ready — and he sure was. Now, he’s focused 100 percent on building a winner.

Browns release left tackle Desmond Harrison

Apparently, Desmond Harrison had some issues with making team meetings on time and the front office finally had enough. Martin McConnell discusses the team moving on from the once-promising prospect.

Damarious Randall says he wants to retire with the Cleveland Browns

His contract is up soon, but Dan Justik says that free safety Damarious Randall wants to finish his career with the Cleveland Browns. The question left to answer is if the two sides can find some common ground to make that happen.
