Nick Chubb, Running back

2018 Fantasy Points: 174.5 points

There may be concerns about the Cleveland Browns running backs because of the depth of the backfield. But there should be no concerns about Nick Chubb because he will be a key cog in the Browns offense for the entire season.

With Kareem Hunt being suspended for the first eight games of the season and Duke Johnson likely to be traded before the season, Chubb will be the bell-cow for the Browns running game to start the season.

After getting only 16 carries to start the season, once Chubb took over as the starting running back, he did not hold back. Despite the limited carries to start the season, Chubb still almost managed to rush for 1,000 yards.

Chubb played in all 16 games last season, starting the last nine, and rushed for 996 yards and eight touchdowns on 192 carries. He also caught 20 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

With a full season as the starter, Chubb should be able to eclipse 1,000 yards in 2019. Even with Hunt returning during Week 10 of the season, his return will help Chubb stay fresh towards the end of the season.

Chubb is also expected to see more opportunities in the passing game. Although he was not known for being a pass catcher coming out of college, he showed reliable hands as a receiver out of the backfield. Kitchens also said that Chubb should get more opportunities catching the ball.

Chubb will be a popular pick in many fantasy football drafts, but because Hunt returning midway through the season, Chubb’s draft value may be a little low. With an expanded role in the passing game, Chubb could be considered a top-10 running back in 2019.
