The Cleveland Browns have preached competition this offseason and they have built a roster to fuel the competitions at several positions.
There have been many surprising players that have impressed the Browns coaching staff during the offseason program, including Dontrell Hilliard and Kyle Kalis.
With many players exceeding the coaches expectations, there are going to be a lot of players with many different roles during training camp.

Today’s featured article points out another surprise on the defensive side of the ball, defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale, who primarily worked with the second-team defensive line during mandatory minicamp.

"The coaches have been impressed with defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale. The spring organized team activities and minicamps are a time for marginal players such as Ekuale to put themselves in position to play a bigger role when training camp opens."
The depth on the defensive line was a problem for the Browns last season, so they needed to find talent to help the group in 2019. With the addition of Sheldon Richardson, there will be a competition for the fourth defensive tackle, and Ekuale may have the edge.

"He got a chance to pal around with his old sport this week. The U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) held a practice session at the Browns training facility in advance of Sunday’s game at FirstEnergy Stadium against Trinidad."
Like several kickers in the NFL, Joseph spent time playing soccer before his football days. With the U.S. Men’s National Soccer team in Cleveland for a match, it was a cool moment for the Browns kicker to share the same field as the team.

A lot of the focus for the Browns and the quarterback position has been on the starters. But as Elliot Kennel points out, the Browns have not had as much success with their backup quarterbacks as well.
