There aren’t many open jobs for the Cleveland Browns in 2019 but that doesn’t mean the roster is totally set. There could still be some surprise moves with these three players being the most likely surprise cuts.

Last season, the Cleveland Browns were featured on the HBO series ‘Hard Knocks’ and we all got an up-close look as they made their decisions on who would make the 53-man roster for Week 1. As is usually the case, a couple of surprise cuts were made at the very end.

While there were fan favorites on the show like Devon Cajuste and Brogan Roback getting released, the most surprising one in 2018 had to be when the team decided defensive end Carl Nassib should be let go. He wasn’t a superstar by any means, but Nassib was a third-round pick entering just his third season and had shown some promise as an edge defender.

He was claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and wound up starting nine of 15 games played. Nassib did very well in those starts, finishing the year with a career-high 6.5 sacks. As for Cleveland, they struggled with depth at the position and ended up making a move this offseason to bring in Olivier Vernon as a way to improve.

This season, it seems less likely that there will be as shocking a release but that doesn’t mean some surprising names won’t be on the chopping block. Here, we identify the three most likely candidates to unexpectedly receive their walking papers in 2019.
