The Cleveland Browns report for their 2019 training camp on July 25. Once they get camp started, these five pressing questions need to be answered.

Heading into the 2019 season, the Cleveland Browns are one of the teams on the rise. They were 7-8-1 last year but finished 5-3 in the second half which has them being looked at as contenders in the AFC North.

While it’s fun to see them finally being looked at as a threat in their division, the fact remains that they haven’t accomplished anything yet. Cleveland enters the season looking for their first winning record since 2007 and they’re relying on a young roster and a rookie head coach in Freddie Kitchens.

With that being said, there will be plenty of questions needing answers when the team reports for training camp on June 25. Here, we look at the five most important ones that need to be addressed.

Bonus Question: Can Jermaine Whitehead steal Morgan Burnett’s job?

One question to follow, but isn’t of dire concern is what will happen at strong safety. Cleveland added Morgan Burnett in the offseason after he was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Burnett joined Pittsburgh on a three-year deal following eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He didn’t live up to his contract but that was as much on the team as it was him. Burnett was used as a deep coverage safety, which isn’t an area where he excels.

With his former teammate from Green Bay, Damarious Randall, handling that job with the Browns, Burnett could regain his old form. That is, as long as he holds off Jermaine Whitehead. Another former Packer, Whitehead was claimed on waivers last season and despite his minimal time on the field, he’s been turning heads this offseason.

During OTAs and minicamps, Whitehead started to earn the respect of the coaching staff and was even called a leader by defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. His rise is worth watching, but this isn’t a burning question due to Burnett’s ability. More than anything, this one is a fun story to watch.
