Cornerback (5): Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, Terrance Mitchell, T.J. Carrie, Donnie Lewis, Jr.

The Browns owned the 2018 NFL Draft. They entered the selection process with the first overall pick for the second season in a row, but thanks to their trade with the Houston Texans in the prior draft, they also had the fourth overall pick. With that selection, they took Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward who was a Week 1 starter. Not only did he start that game, but he also drew the assignment of covering Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

‘The Warden’ held his own against AB and even won the NFL Rookie of the Week award after recording two interceptions off Ben Roethlisberger. He continued to impress throughout the season and enters 2019 the unquestioned No. 1 corner in Cleveland.

Then in this past draft, the Browns added another corner, this time with the 46th overall pick. That’s where they landed LSU’s Greedy Williams, which was an absolute bargain. One of the best coverage corners in the nation, Williams was overlooked by some teams for his poor tackling as well as a rumored low Wonderlic score. Their loss is Cleveland’s gain as he and Ward together make a great starting team.

Fighting for the third spot will be Terrance Mitchell and T.J. Carrie. In this prediction, Mitchell edges him out but both can play and will see plenty of time on the field. Their cornerbacks are rounded out with Donnie Lewis, Jr. who they took in the seventh-round out of Tulane. He had seven career picks but will have a hard time seeing the field without injuries ahead of him.
