Will Chubb stay the man?

Last season, rookie running back Nick Chubb proved to be a capable bell cow for the Browns. He ended up taking over for Carlos Hyde after the veteran was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars and performed admirably. Chubb finished with 996 yards on the ground and looks to build upon his success. However, he could have a challenger on his hand after the first eight games.

Cleveland signed Kareem Hunt in the offseason, which gives them a former NFL rushing champion in their backfield. Hunt is suspended for the first eight games of the season but his talent suggests he should get plenty of snaps once he returns.

According to the oddsmakers, that may not be enough to take Hunt off the field. Again, a member of the Browns comes up high on the Odds Shark list as they have Chubb ranked sixth on the odds to lead the NFL in rushing yards (+1800) and fifth to lead the league in touchdown runs (+1400).

This placement is a testament to the kind of runner Chubb is. He entered his rookie season as a backup but performed so well that the general manager sent his competition away so that the coaching staff would have to give him the ball more. He gave them great results after that and has eight weeks to prove that Hunt should be a complimentary piece.

Either way, the Browns backfield is shaping up to be one of the best in the NFL. Then again, their entire offense is doing that same thing.
