The Cleveland Browns are entered their second week of training camp on Friday. Here are the three biggest takeaways from the eight day of practice.

Friday was the final practice for the Cleveland Browns before their Orange and Brown scrimmage on Saturday at FirstEnergy Stadium. And with another solid practice on Friday, they appear ready for the scrimmage.

Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens continued to lead a physical practice, but the team looks like they are thriving with the physicality. But he is also doing by pitting the first-team offense against the first-team defense because he wants to his team to “get better, not more confident.”

Here are some of the biggest takeaways from Friday’s practice and Day 8 of Browns training camp.

Quick Hits

Former Browns kicker and one of the original members of the 1999 teams, Phil Dawson, signed a one-day contract so he could end his career as a Cleveland Brown. During his tenure with the Browns, Dawson proved to be one of the most consistent players on the team, and he quickly became a fan favorite.

With the Browns holding a competition to see who will be rounding out their wide receiver depth chart, there were several wide receiver putting together good camps and standing out in the competition, including Blake Jackson. But after a good first week of camp, Jackson suffered an injury, and the Browns made the decision to release him Friday with an injury designation.

In a corresponding move with Jackson’s release, the Browns signed tight end Mik’Quan Dean, who was with the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the offseason.
