The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including head coach Freddie Kitchens describing how tough camp has been

There may be some big names on the Cleveland Browns roster, but don’t think that means head coach Freddie Kitchens will be giving anyone the star treatment during the team’s training camp.

The rookie coach spoke recently about the way camp has been going and he called it a “culture shock” for some of the players. He says this time of the year is all about building toughness, which is exactly what he’s trying to do.

From there, he did say that the players are buying in, which was easy to see for anyone who tuned in last week and saw how they performed on the field in their first exhibition game of the year.

One of the things Kitchens has done is put the Browns in pads more often than other teams. 11 of the 14 practices have been fully padded, which he says is all about building toughness now since they can do just one padded practice per week once the season begins.

"“Cleveland Browns defensive end Chad Thomas has been released from the hospital with a neck strain after a scary incident at practice on Monday.”"

Anytime a player hurts their neck, it’s best to take as many precautions as you can. Cleveland did that here and thankfully it looks as though Chad Thomas is going to be just fine, which is great news.

With the news of Antonio Callaway’s suspension still fresh in the minds of Cleveland fans, the Browns went out and signed Rico Gathers who is suspended for one game due to an arrest for marijuana possession last year. The move seems like a head-scratcher at first, but Elliot Kennel says there are some good reasons for them to have made the move when they did.
