Cleveland Browns News: Hype around Browns called ‘ridiculous’
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the hype surrounding them being called ‘ridiculous’
Some believe this will be a new beginning for the Cleveland Browns as they finally become winners. Others say it will be the “same old Browns.” Well, at least some who follow other AFC North franchises.
Apparently, a Pittsburgh Steelers analyst has come out and called the excitement around the Browns ridiculous and said they won’t be any better in 2019.
It’s funny to see how much other teams are starting to worry about this version of the Browns.

Steelers Analyst: Browns Hype “Ridiculous” — Ferrall on the Bench, CBS Sports Radio
"“I think the hype around the Browns is ridiculous,” Cook said on Ferrall on the Bench. “It’s only going to be irritating if they live up to it. That’s the thing: they still got to show they can win. I think the feeling here is the Browns are still the Browns until they prove otherwise. Rookie head coach Freddie Kitchens, good luck dealing with that.”"
For years, Pittsburgh has been the kings of the AFC North and they clearly don’t like the attention being on the Browns. It’s cute really. But hey, change is coming, get ready.
"“You get tired of practicing against the same people. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to get a little measuring stick as far as what we have been doing. Practicing against somebody else is always good. It changes the competition up.”"
In addition to talking about the team having a productive day. Freddie Kitchens said that Odell Beckham, Jr. has a “bit of something going on” that has kept him from practicing. He does expect him back soon though.
"“When asked who would win a head-to-head chugging contest between him and Austin, Mayfield seemed to imply he would come out on top.”“He used to have it. … You can tell him I said that. He’ll come over here and kick my ass,” Mayfield said."
There has been a lot of fun stuff to watch since Baker Mayfield joined the Browns, but a beer chugging contest with Stone Cold Steve Austin would probably jump to the top of the list.
