The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need, including a look at a fight and injury that happened in the joint practice with the Indianapolis Colts

Thursday brought us another joint practice between the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. Before the two teams took the field before these combined practices began, there was some excitement shared by a few of the players who were looking forward to facing another team in practice.

Their reasoning was simple — they were ready to hit someone who wasn’t a teammate. And hit they did — it just wasn’t the kind of hitting they were supposed to be doing. According to reports, there were at least five fights between the two teams, which is absurd.

Clearly, tempers were out of control and the coaches can’t be happy that there was so much extracurricular activity going on between the Browns and Colts.

Indy also had a serious injury as receiver Daurice Fountain suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle. That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Cleveland Browns joint practice report: Things get heated as fights break out — Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"“There were at least five fights during the final joint practice between the two teams.First up, wide receiver Jaelen Strong locked horns with a Colts player. Whatever happened prompted left guard Joel Bitonio to come in and mix it up.Then, tight end Demetrius Harris and defensive end Ben Banogu got together for a donnybrook.”"

A little dust-up here and there is one thing, but this screams lack of discipline. I may be old-fashioned, but I never liked the joint practices and this is a reason why.

Scary moment from Colts-Browns joint practice as Daurice Fountain reportedly dislocates, fractures ankle — Bryan DeArso, CBS Sports

"“Daurice Fountain, a second-year receiver for the Colts, endured a scary moment during Thursday’s joint practice between Indianapolis and the Cleveland Browns.Fountain sustained a serious ankle injury during practice, ESPN’s Tony Grossi has reported. Grossi added that Fountain was eventually carted off the practice field with his left leg in a cast.”"

Hopefully, the young man will have a speedy recovery. Injuries are sadly a part of the game but it never gets easier to see these things happen.

Browns demote Austin Corbett to second-string

The bad news is, it looks as though the Browns won’t get much playing time out of the 33rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft again this season. The good news is that Austin Corbett may have found a position as he looked better at center than he did anywhere else so far.
