In what turned out to be a sloppy game, the Cleveland Browns lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-12, but who stood out and who didn’t?

The Cleveland Browns’ undefeated preseason came to an end Friday after losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-12. Tampa Bay kicked a game-winning field goal with just 15 seconds remaining in the game.

It was a defense dominant game on both sides, as neither teams offenses were able to generate many big plays to get the ball down the field. And for the Browns, all of their points had to come from their kicker.

It was not the game the Browns were hoping for with a majority of their starters playing. However, it should be a lesson learned for the entire team as they get ready for the start of the regular season.

Even with the struggles for the Browns, who was able to stand out and make plays, and who disappointed on Friday night against the Buccaneers?

Honorable Mention Stud – Devaroe Lawrence

The Cleveland Browns starting defensive line set the tone early and created many problems for the Tampa Bay offense. However, the pressure did not let up once the second- and third-team came in. And a big reason for that was defensive tackle Devaroe Lawrence.

Lawrence continued to show up in the backfield when he hit the field, making three total tackles, including two sacks. He has proven to be a dominant pass rusher, but can also stuff the run up the middle. After his performance Friday night, Lawrence is looking more and more likely to make the 53-man roster.
