The Cleveland Browns won their fourth and final preseason game against the Detroit Lions on Thursday. These are the players that stood out as studs and duds in the victory

The regular season is finally here. The Cleveland Browns won their final preseason game over the Detroit Lions and finished the exhibition games with a 3-1 record.

Of course, in these games, the record isn’t what matters. What teams are looking for is the best 53 players to make the roster. On Thursday, it was all about the young players trying to win spots on that roster as there were hardly any starters on the field.

With these players trying to prove their worth, we look back over the game and identify our weekly studs and duds, starting with an honorable mention stud who wasn’t on the field long, but still made an impact.

Honorable Mention Stud: Mack Wilson

A third-down stop was made by linebacker Mack Wilson when he stuffed tight end T.J. Hockenson. He read the play perfectly and blew up the rookie as soon as he made the catch. On the next drive, Wilson again made a play as he was in the offensive backfield as soon as the ball was snapped.

He was held on the play and running back Mark Thompson took off for 25 yards. A penalty flag wiped that out, however, as Wilson’s penetration caused the Detroit line to simply try and make a desperation play.

A fifth-round pick, Wilson has been all over the field for the Browns. He was named the best rookie in camp by his teammates and it’s easy to see why. This kid looks to be a huge steal.
