Now that rosters across the league have been trimmed to 53 players, John Dorsey and company will be looking to put together the Cleveland Browns practice squad. Here are 5 players that the Browns cut that should be in consideration if they clear waivers.

Cut day in the NFL is a whirlwind of activity. A few teams do get a little jump start on the purge, but for the most part, it’s eight hours of frenzied activity. You have players being waived, or having their contracts terminated, or just flat-out traded.

When the dust settles over 1,100 players, that just 24 hours earlier were fighting for roster spots, are now unemployed.

The majority of those 1,100 players are placed on waivers. That’s where the work begins for front offices around the league. By noon Sunday, we will find out who, out of that pool of 1,100, will be picked up off waivers by NFL teams.

For some of the players that remain, well; their NFL dream is over, for others, landing on a practice squad is the best-case scenario.

The Cleveland Browns and general manager John Dorsey will be looking to put together the best possible practice squad that they can assemble. Dorsey will be scouring the league looking for the best possible fits for the Browns practice squad needs, but inevitably, some of the practice squad will be amassed from players that fell victim to the numbers game from Browns’ camp in Berea.

Below we take a look at some players, that if (for some it’s a really big if) they clear waivers, Dorsey will want to sign to the Browns practice squad.
