The 2019 NFL season is finally here. On Sunday afternoon, the Cleveland Browns will have their first chance to show the league their new squad of talented players. So, what can the Browns do to take down the Tennessee Titans?

For the first time since returning to the league in 1999, the Cleveland Browns will bear the burden of expectation this season. Unlike last season, coming off of 0-16 with the hope that No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield would be good, the Browns are super-charged coming into 2019. Cleveland has added a laundry list of talented pieces on both sides of the ball.

Unfortunately, this amount of talent does not guarantee the Browns a spot in the playoffs (their first postseason appearance since 2002). As many of the NFL’s wise men might say, that’s why they play the games. The Browns will meet the Tennessee Titans in Cleveland this Sunday for their first of sixteen regular-season bouts this year.

In a division as competitive and as cutthroat as the AFC North, it is imperative that the Browns get off to a hot start. The first half of Cleveland’s schedule is downright brutal, with a primetime matchup against the LA Rams in Week 3, and a 1:00 bout with the New England Patriots on October 27th.

Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans may be the only “easy” game for the Browns until the second half of the season. Calling this one easy is stretching it, considering the Titans just barely missed the playoffs in 2018. But, the Browns’ added talent could give them the upper hand in Freddie Kitchens’ first outing as a head coach. Let’s take a look at some keys for Cleveland this week.
