Week 1 is over and the fan base is frustrated to say the least. But who gets the blame for the Cleveland Browns ugly loss?

You ever been so mad that you kicked someone in the face? Greg Robinson seemed to hit that point during the Cleveland Browns upsetting loss. He fell backwards during a play and a defender was coming down towards him and he lifted his legs and clearly made a kicking motion and connected with the defenders face.

Little did anybody know how important that lack of emotional control would play out for the rest of the game. Robinson gets ejected, Kendall Lamm gets injured, Chris Hubbard is moved over to left tackle, where he has no business being, and Justin McCray, who is listed as a guard, is moved over to right tackle — and the new addition he wasn’t ready to play in this game.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Hubbard wasn’t playing well at right tackle when he was there to start the game. What does that say about this team’s depth for the O-Line? They have little to none on the outside. In the defense of the O-Line, Baker Mayfield was holding the ball too long. Head coach Freddie Kitchens play calling was nothing compared to last season. Add up all three of these misfortunes and you have a route in the NFL.

Now, some people disagree with my next viewpoint.  What about the officiating? Did the refs help this loss along? Did the refs miss calls that seemingly assisted in the demise of the Browns today?  personally I say, yes.

I also look at the game like this, not every single flag thrown was a bad call. The unsportsmanlike conduct calls, getting tossed for kicking someone, open hand hitting someone in the face, these issues were not the problem of the refs by any means. This team came into this game thinking they would win because of the hype they generated this offseason.  The Browns went into the weekend expecting a win without earning anything and that is exactly what will be spread throughout the internet.

The Cleveland Browns will bounce back on Monday Night Football. This offensive line needs to take their heads out of their back ends and give Baker some more time. Mayfield went for x-rays after the game, bruised hand is all it was. Say thanks people, he took hits today that he never should have. We should all be thankful, as a fan base, that the man considered to be our savior is not needing a new shoulder.

Moral of the story, it’s a game and nobody was happy about it. Waiting all these months for football to come back, all the hype, all of the predictions of this team to be great, and then to have Week 1 turn into a nightmare was an awful feeling.

Let’s all be thankful the future of the Browns is still intact and corrections can be made by the coaching staff, Baker, and the offensive line. Next week will be better.
