Cleveland Browns News: Freddie Kitchens promises improvement
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including head coach Freddie Kitchens promising the team will improve
Very little went right for the Cleveland Browns in their Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans. We all understand this and surely no fan wants to continue to re-live the frustrating game.
Fortunately, we may not have to. The fact is, the Browns are still a talented team and even with their struggles, they were in this game until the three-score fourth quarter allowed Tennessee to pull away.
Not only that, but head coach Freddie Kitchens is intent on making sure it doesn’t happen again. It was a rude awakening for the rookie head coach but he promised that things will improve going forward.

Kitchens promises Browns ‘will get better’ against Jets — Yahoo! Sports
"“What we have to refrain from doing right now is overreacting. It is one game in a 16-game schedule,” Kitchens said. “We are going to continue to make corrections in how we prepare from a discipline standpoint and a lack of composure standpoint.”"
Kitchens is absolutely right that the discipline needs to improve. He also understands there are 15 games remaining and the team has a lot of time left to make amends for this rough outing. Monday night will say a lot about the character of this team.
NFL Hall of Famer calls Browns ‘immature as a football team’ — Troy L. Smith, Cleveland.com
"“[They’re] Immature as a football team,” said [Cris] Carter. “You could see that with the penalties. It shows when you bring together a bunch of kids who have not won in the NFL and guys from other teams who haven’t won…they definitely didn’t do well in the most important thing, which was the football game yesterday.”"
Winning takes time. Teams have to learn how to do that and unfortunately, the Browns don’t have a lot of players on their roster that know how to do that in the NFL. Thankfully there’s time to improve but it’s hard to combat takes like the one Carter had until the team improves.
