The Cleveland Browns will head to East Rutherford, New Jersey to face the New York Jets. Here we look at a three-step blueprint to winning that game
This week looks like a game that the Cleveland Browns should win. They’re facing a team that’s reeling right now in the New York Jets, who have had some bad injury news as of late.
Quincy Enunwa won’t suit up anymore this season which hurts an already less-than-stellar passing attack. There’s also some concern around Le’Veon Bell but he did at least have good news from his MRI after their loss to Buffalo in Week 1.
As for their biggest injury, quarterback Sam Darnold won’t suit up as he was diagnosed with mono. With him out, Trevor Siemian will take his place.
Still, Cleveland can’t pretend this will be easy, otherwise, they could turn this one into a trap game. With that being said, we look at the three-step blueprint to knocking off the Jets on Monday Night Football.
Goes without saying: Stay disciplined
Last week, the Browns were a mess. In Freddie Kitchens’ debut as head coach, they had an unbelievable 18 penalties. The days of poor discipline were supposed to be in the past but that was one of their worst performances of all-time in that regard.
The worst penalty came when Greg Robinson kicked Kenny Vaccaro in the head and was thrown out of the game. With their starting left tackle gone the offense fell apart as they simply couldn’t block. Add in all the free yards they gave to the Titans, and it was a surprise the blowout didn’t start until the fourth quarter.
So this one seems to go without saying, but we touch on it anyway. As for the remaining three-step blueprint, we kick that off by talking about some of the Jets misfortunes heading into this game.
