The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets meet in the NFL’s 100th season for a rematch of the first-ever Monday Night Football game. We predict who wins this historical game

The Cleveland Browns head to New Jersey for their first road game of the 2019 season as they take on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. For the Browns, they’re trying to erase a terrible Week 1 outing that saw them get housed by the Tennessee Titans at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Now, they play the Jets in a rematch of the first-ever Monday Night Football game between these two teams. In this contest, the Jets will be short-handed as some of their key players will be out due to injury.

Quarterback Sam Darnold came down with mono and will miss an indefinite amount of time. Replacing him is Trevor Siemian, who is actually a solid backup quarterback. He doesn’t have the tools that Darnold does, but he has the football IQ to get the job done should the Browns not be on top of their game.

Also out will be linebacker C.J. Mosely, the prized free agent they signed away from the Baltimore Ravens. Their top rookie will be sidelined as well, as Quinnen Williams is dealing with an ankle injury.

Other notable injuries include Le’Veon Bell battling a shoulder injury, wide receiver Robby Anderson going through a calf problem, and starting tackle Kelvin Beachum missing practice with an ankle injury.

Can the Browns take advantage of this wounded duck, or will they again fall short and see themselves begin this much-hyped season with a record of 0-2? That’s exactly the answer our writers try and tackle here with this weekly prediction.
