Game: Cleveland Browns (0-1) vs New York Jets (0-1)

Summary: In a rematch of what was the first-ever Monday Night Football game, the Cleveland Browns will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets. Both teams are coming into this week two MNF match-up having lost their season openers. It’s awfully early to call this a must-win game for the Browns, but due to the upcoming schedule…this is a must-win game. The Browns need to step off the airplane with that mentality.

For the offense, look for Freddie Kitchens to get back to basics. The Browns need to employ a run-heavy game plan with quick-hitting passes to open up the chunk plays in the passing game. Baker Mayfield will bounce back throwing for multiple touchdowns including at least one to Odell Beckham Jr. The entire football world will be “watch”ing as Beckham makes his return to the stadium that he used to call home. It’s guaranteed to be quite the spectacle.

The defensive focus will need to be on Le’veon Bell, who will be suiting up for this primetime matchup by all accounts. Bell can hurt you in a myriad of ways as Browns fans already know all too well. The defense will have to play disciplined football in order to corral Bell. The Browns need to take an early lead and make it a long night for the Jets second-string signal-caller Trevor Siemian. This Cleveland defensive front needs to show up and show out this week on the national stage to get the taste of last week’s lackluster performance out of their mouths. Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi, Sheldon Richardson, and Olivier Vernon will do just that registering at least one sack each.

Prediction: After the roughest of season openers it would be hard for any Browns supporter to confidently predict a win. Not me though, I’m doubling down.
