Stud: Odell Beckham, Jr.

Last week, all the attention was on the wrist of Odell Beckham, Jr. as he was wearing a Richard Mille watch that drew the ire of the league. This week, it was his visor that got them bothered with No. 13. Shortly after making his first catch of the game, the refs sent Beckham to the bench and made him get an un-tinted shield on his helmet.

This will only add to his belief that the league picks on him some as it wasn’t as if he had some new visor no one had ever seen. As for that first catch, OBJ made his first real highlight-reel play for the Browns as he pulled in a 33-yard pass from Baker Mayfield with just one hand despite great coverage by the Jets.

OBJ also showed his worth on their first drive of the second quarter as he was able to extend and pull in a 21-yard grab, holding onto the ball despite being hit by two Jets.

Just to put some icing on the cake, he took his first pass in the second half to the house. It was a quick pass from Baker that hit OBJ in stride and he raced past every Jets defender and crossed the end zone in the building that used to be his home stadium. The 89-yard touchdown was his longest ever and it showed why Cleveland wanted to bring him in so bad.

Beckham had the best game of any offensive player on the field, but sadly we know that won’t be the focus this week. People will probably talk about his watch and visor, but all that is fine because he’s capable of scoring from anywhere on the field.
