At the quarter mark of the season for the Browns, a handful of players are proving that they deserve a new deal as theirs are set to expire.

The Cleveland Browns are now a quarter of the way through the 2019 season and find themselves atop the AFC North after a beatdown over the division rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. While they have dealt with a ton of injuries to their secondary, the Browns have found a way to overcome and have seen a solid performance from their defense.

Offensively, after a terribly slow start, the Browns are rolling, dropping 40 points on the Baltimore defense that included three rushing touchdowns by running back Nick Chubb. It seems as though, after being close for two weeks, the offense has finally found an identity.

With a 2-2 record, the Browns will play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football this week and hope to get on the right side of .500 for the first time this season. While we saw fireworks on Sunday, the one thing we have not seen this season is general manager John Dorsey open his wallet and extend any players on expiring contracts.

Throughout the start of this season, the Browns have a number of players in their contract years who are proving that they belong to stay in the brown and orange, and prove that they still matter. Here are the top five Browns who are proving with their play that they deserve a new contract at the end of the 2019 season.
