Arena League offensive tackle asks Cleveland Browns for a tryout via Twitter

The Cleveland Browns need help on the offensive line and Arena League offensive tackle Jarvis Courtney has gone to social media to ask for a chance to provide that assistance
It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns offensive line is a problem. They clearly aren’t the only issue with the offense but on Monday Night Football, we all saw them struggle against the San Francisco 49ers.
Rookie Nick Bosa owned left tackle Greg Robinson as they were unable to keep Baker Mayfield upright. Of course, some of that was on No. 6 as well as he wasn’t getting the ball out quick enough. Still, they need to make some improvements to the line and one man is trying to throw his name into the mix using social media.
Jarvis Courtney, a left tackle for the West Virginia Roughriders, is trying to get the Browns to notice him and has gone on Twitter asking for a chance to prove he belongs.

He’s continued to try and get noticed, even saying he would protect Baker Mayfield with his life. It’s the right attitude, but there’s no doubt making the jump from indoor football to the pros would be quite a stretch.
Still, the Browns did gain a lot of publicity for taking a shot on another player who wasn’t on any NFL radar. This offseason, they signed Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi after he lied about knowing Alonzo Highsmith in order to get a tryout that he wasn’t invited to.
Sheehy-Guiseppi didn’t make the 53-man roster but he did return his first punt for a touchdown in Week 1 of the preseason — which was the highlight of the exhibition games.
As for Courtney, his road is even tougher but he should be commended for putting himself out there and asking for a shot. He has nothing to lose, so why not throw your name out there? It almost worked for Sheehy-Guiseppi when he took a big gamble.
