Round 2, Pick 46: Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama

While Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson have been a force for the Browns this year, the drop off behind them when they need a breather is steep.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Outside of the play of Devaroe Lawrence who can come in and fill a serviceable need for the Browns, the middle of the defensive line becomes a liability when Richardson and Ogunjobi are not on the field.

Here in the second round, the massive man in the middle for the Alabama Crimson Tide finds himself still on the board. The Browns take advantage by changing his color scheme from Crimson and white to brown and orange (thus he now matters).

Listed at 6-7 and 312, Davis is a long and athletic defensive tackle who can be a force in any defensive scheme as a three-tech, over the center, or even lining up in the five gap as Aaron Donald does on occasions for the Los Angeles Rams.

While he is having a bit of a down year for the Crimson Tide this year, Davis has all of the tools of a potential All Pro tackle at the next level.

Thus far he has tallied just one sack for Alabama and one tackle behind the line of scrimmage, but his potential can be seen as he tallied ten tackles for loss and eight sacks as a sophomore in 2017. He will also test off the charts in March at the combine, helping his draft stock.
