The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, even stories that are continuing to go on about Baker Mayfield’s flag-planting at Oklahoma

Some storylines simply refuse to die. Cleveland Browns fans know this all too well and it’s happening once again.

This time, it’s all about the infamous flag-planting incident where Baker Mayfield planted an Oklahoma flag at midfield against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Some fans were so mad about this, they didn’t even want Baker in Cleveland. Others understood it was simply some college fun where Mayfield was trying to get under the skin of Ohio State players.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

No matter where you stand on the debate, there’s clearly no one who wants to keep talking about It — yet it won’t die as Nick Bosa resurrected this no-longer breathing horse on Monday, which allowed him to be beat some more.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

San Francisco 49ers’ Nick Bosa gets revenge on Cleveland Browns’ Baker Mayfield over flag-planting incident — Ryan Gaydos, Fox News

"“I think everybody knows what that was for,” Bosa told reporters after the game. “Just wanted to get payback. He had it coming.”"

First off, Nick Bosa doesn’t need to act like he’s all about Ohio State. This is the same guy that decided to step away from the game and focus on himself rather than try and win more for the Buckeyes. So…moving on.

One play sums up sad start to Odell Beckham’s Browns career — Howie Kussoy, New York Post

"“With the 2-3 Browns trailing 28-3 in the fourth quarter, Beckham was put in to return his first punt of the year. After catching the ball just shy of Cleveland’s 35-yard line, the former Giants receiver ran halfway across the field, then zig-zagged multiple times in the wrong direction, only to end up fumbling the ball away.”"

This play was bad but OBJ was simply trying to make something happen. With the score where it was, the real issue was putting him back there. Had Beckham been hurt on a punt return while trailing by 25, head coach Freddie Kitchens may have lost the team —‚ and the fans.

Video disputes Richard Sherman’s claim that Baker Mayfield snubbed 49ers — Ben Axelrod, WKYC

"“In a video posted to the 49ers’ Instagram story, Mayfield can be seen shaking hands with multiple San Francisco captains and even hugging tight end George Kittle. While it’s tough to glean anything about the interaction between Mayfield and Sherman — if there even was one — the Cleveland quarterback doesn’t appear to outright refuse a handshake from Sherman, as the 4-time Pro Bowl cornerback seemed to insinuate.”"

The 49ers beat the Browns easily, but Richard Sherman decided to try and make it worse with his claims about Baker being a mean guy. Funny thing is, the video proved that was a lie — cue the Maury Povich GIF. Really, it’s not shocking because Sherman has always been all mouth.

Browns build dominant secondary in 7-round mock draft

Cory Kinnan looks into his NFL Draft crystal ball (AKA The Draft Network mock simulator) and picks Cleveland’s 2020 class. Several holes are filled but they go for a home run with a great player in the secondary early.
