The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including a story about just how bad the recent loss was for Freddie Kitchens

First things first, there’s no way anyone can defend Hue Jackson and his tenure as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Well, unless you’re Mike Silver but that’s a story for another day.

Jackson’s tenure was a bumbling mess, much like himself when searching for a challenge flag inside his pocket. He had no real plan other than to blame everyone else for his failures and also wore the hell out of every VCR he could get his hands on.

Still, he never lost by more than 25 points during his disastrous career, and in just five games, Freddie Kitchens has already lost by more than that twice.

In Week 1, they were smoked by a score of 43-13. That 30 point loss was bad, but so too was the 28-point defeat this past week as the 49ers rolled over them 31-3.

Freddie Kitchens’ loss Monday was worse than any loss Hue Jackson had with Browns — Shalise Manza Young, Yahoo Sports

"“It is early in the Freddie Kitchens tenure, but for as eager as Browns fans were to see Hue Jackson get the boot, the Browns under Jackson never suffered a loss as bad as they did under Kitchens on Monday.”"

While those numbers are true, Jackson also took into his third year to win more than two games, so we’ll stick with Freddie. Besides, teams never really ran up the score on Clueless Hue because he was never a threat.

Baker Mayfield has perfect response to Richard Sherman handshake drama and Nick Bosa’s flag plant celebration — John Breech, CBS Sports

"“I know what I did, but that’s the one time the camera, and something recording me, has gone in my favor,” Mayfield said, via the Cleveland Plain-Dealer."

Some people still get irked by Baker Mayfield when he speaks his mind but even his toughest critic has to laugh at that a little. Clearly, Mayfield is poking fun at himself for being caught trying to run from the police while at Oklahoma. As for Richard Sherman and his lying, there’s not much to say. He’s always been one to try and get in the spotlight, so no reason to give him what he wants.

Was Ken Zampese the real architect for Cleveland Browns, Baker Mayfield?

During the offseason, former Browns coach Bob Wylie said Ken Zampese was the real quarterback guru that helped Baker Mayfield. At the time, it stunk of sour grapes but after the first five weeks of the 2019 season, Dan Justik asks if there may be some truth to that claim.

No, the Browns are not looking to trade Odell Beckham Jr.

Some rumor started going wild that the Browns were going to trade OBJ. Cory Kinnan says there’s no way that will happen, and he’s right.

Cleveland Browns are losers in offseason trade with Giants

So far, Cleveland has yet to maximize their trade with the New York Giants this offseason. They landed OBJ and Olivier Vernon but neither has stood out yet, which makes Matt McFatridge wonder if they’re going to be the losers in this trade.
