Cleveland Browns: 5 Bold Predictions vs. Seattle Seahawks
5. If Cleveland loses, Freddie Kitchens will officially be on the hot seat
Most Browns fans may already believe that he is on the hot seat, that would depend on what their expectations were coming into the season.
The schedule has been brutal and the offensive line lacks talent so I do not believe the front office has been too concerned with his performance. But the way the team has played against other good teams may get their attention.
Winning two of your first five games isn’t ideal but it could be worse and it has been worse for the Browns in recent years.
But the front office had expectations for this team just like all of us did, they expect this team to compete for a division tittle. Luckily for Kitchens, the rest of the division isn’t very good and 8-8 might win it.
Cleveland has to start beating good teams and that starts against Seattle. At home, this is a very winnable game and would give the Browns great momentum going into their bye week.
Kitchens playcalling hasn’t been good, he has not shown the ability to adjust his playcalling to what is going on in the game.
A coaches job is to take the talent that he has and making the best of it, Kitchens has not done that this year. This is one of the most talented rosters in the league.
It is like giving your 16-year-old child the keys to your brand new Mercedes Benz. Nothing could happen or they could ruin your expensive car. Kitchens looks like that kid right now and he hasn’t crashed the car yet but he has gotten a few tickets.
The Browns ownership may be scared from the Hue Jackson situation, where they gave him another chance and he still was a bad coach, I don’t think they want to be in that situation again.
If Kitchens doesn’t get this thing going in the right direction soon, those parents might decide to take back the keys to the car.
