By now I’m sure you’ve heard, Freddie Kitchens is a first-year head coach at any level. I’m also sure you’ve heard that there will be growing pains. Both of these things are true, and it possibly cost the Browns a win.

It wasn’t all bad. There were two fourth-down conversions that helped the Browns score on one drive and set up a goal to go situation on another, but it was mostly terrible.
The Browns were up 20-12 with under two minutes remaining in the second quarter. With the way they were allowing the Seahawks to move the ball, most assumed they would take their time. Even if they didn’t get a touchdown or missed a field goal, the worse that could happen would be a couple run plays from Seattle and go into halftime with one or two-possession lead.
Instead, they ran the hurry-up offense. Baker forced an endzone throw that wound up in an interception and a subsequent touchdown for the Seahawks just before the half. If the Browns want to keep pace in this division, they must figure out how to play better in critical situations because it has been horrific to this point of the year.
