Offensive Player of the Year: Nick Chubb

This one is an easy selection. Nick Chubb is third in the league in rushing and fourth in total scrimmage yards per game at 122.5, with seven touchdowns to go along with it. Chubb has been nothing short of spectacular to start the season.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Chubb didn’t start until Week 7 of his rookie season. He managed to finish with 996 rushing yards and 149 receiving yards on the season. All of his receiving yards came after he made his initial start.

Chubb has all of the makings of a bell-cow running back. Sweet feet, great vision, tackle shedding skills, and enough speed to hit the home run plays. He already had the longest rush in the history of the storied franchise in 2018. But then he added the second-longest rush this season against the Ravens.

So far, Chubb is averaging 22 touches per contest and is showing no signs of slowing down. He’s proven to be a durable back despite having a torn ACL in his junior year of college. He has only one fumble in his 346 touches as a pro, and it came this past weekend. Chubb has easily been this season’s offensive player of the year and with a 4-2 record instead of 2-4, could easily be in the NFL Offensive Player of the Year conversation.
