The Cleveland Browns have a young, talented roster and according to a Bleacher Report article, Nick Chubb is the most promising of those young stars

During the bye week, the Cleveland Browns will be working on finding some consistency. Throughout the first six weeks, they have been up and down on offense — something that’s not unexpected even though it has been frustrating.

The reason the ups and downs shouldn’t be a wild surprise is due to the youth on the roster. General manager John Dorsey has added a lot of talent, but many of those players are still very young and learning the game.

It’s a double-edged sword as that youth brings a lot of promise, but there can also be mistakes along the way. Still, the future seems bright for the Browns, and one player stands out as their most promising youngster.

Recently, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report took a look at the next wave of superstars in the NFL and picked every team’s most promising player under the age of 25. For the Browns, that player ended up being running back Nick Chubb, who has yet to make 16 starts in the NFL but is already among the best in numbers put up in the past two seasons.

"“Chubb is currently second in the NFL in rushing yards (607), and he’s averaging an impressive 5.3 yards per carry. He also has 20 receptions for 128 yards and has found the end zone six times. Dating back to last season, he has 1,880 yards from scrimmage and 16 total touchdowns despite making just 15 starts.” — Knox, Bleacher Report"

Knox also points out that Chubb is built like a power back but can still burn teams with his speed. He has two of the three longest runs in Cleveland history, going for 88-yards this year after setting a team record 92-yards last season in their win over the Atlanta Falcons.

What will be interesting is seeing whether or not Cleveland continues to use Chubb like a workhorse in the second half of the season. The Browns love his style of play but they did add Kareem Hunt in the offseason.

Hunt is currently serving an eight-game suspension and will be back after their Week 9 game. A former NFL leading rusher, Hunt is an explosive player both as a runner and receiver.

It will be a delicate balance of trying to get Hunt’s playmaking skills on the field while not limiting Chubb — who is on the verge of superstardom.
