Cleveland Browns News: Joel Bitonio trade explored, but denied
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the team declining a trade offer for guard Joel Bitonio
An unexpected development came last week when the Cleveland Browns traded guard Austin Corbett to the Los Angeles Rams. Corbett was selected 33rd overall out of Nevada last season and never developed into the player John Dorsey expected him to be.
However, the trade talks between the Browns and L.A. didn’t start with Corbett. Instead, the Rams reportedly called Dorsey trying to get left guard Joel Bitonio for cornerback Marcus Peters.
Dorsey said no, which is a good thing considering Bitonio is a stud and the line would be rough-looking without him, and countered with a Corbett trade.

"“Dorsey turned down that deal for Bitonio but proposed sending offensive lineman Austin Corbett to the Rams instead, an offer that intrigued Los Angeles enough to accept. And when the Browns passed on Peters, the Rams offered him to the Baltimore Ravens, who had been having conversations with the Jacksonville Jaguars about Jalen Ramsey.”"
Dorsey drafted Marcus Peters in Kansas City, so it made sense the Rams thought Dorsey would be interested. And he very well may have been, just not for Joel Bitonio.
