Cleveland Browns to make changes across offensive line?
By Cory Kinnan
After putting together an abysmal performance the first six games of the season, the Cleveland Browns may be mulling changes along the offensive line.
The Cleveland Browns are set to face the undefeated, defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots this week. The Patriots currently rank second in the league in sacks, the Browns rank in the top 10 in sacks allowed; for obvious reasons, the brown and orange may be looking to make changes along their offensive line.
Outside of left guard Joel Bitonio and center J.C. Tretter, the Browns have had three shaky candidates worth replacing in left tackle Greg Robinson, right guard Eric Kush, and right tackle Chris Hubbard. It appears that the Browns were taking the bye week to audition three different players at these three spots.
Among those getting reps at all three vulnerable spots along the offensive front is Justin McCray, who started in place of the injured Chris Hubbard in week three against the Los Angeles Rams. Speaking on McCray, head coach Freddie Kitchens had this to say:

"“Justin is one of our more versatile guys… If he were to go out there at tackle, I would have total confidence in him” (Kitchens via Browns)."
McCray has also been getting reps at right guard, his natural position and one that he started at in 13 games over two years for the Green Bay Packers. If a change is to be made, McCray is the obvious candidate to serve as the new starter on the offensive front.
Guard Wyatt Teller, acquired from the Buffalo Bills this summer, is another candidate to see the field starting along the offensive front; right guard would be his most likely landing spot. A fifth round pick of the Bills a year ago, he started seven games in Buffalo at left guard.
Tackle Kendall Lamm is also getting reps with the first team offense, as the Browns are dealing with a great deal of uncertainty after failing to land Washington Pro Bowler Trent Williams. Lamm started 13 games at tackle for the Houston Texans one year ago.
Reported by Clevelanddotcom’s Mary Kay Cabot earlier this week, left tackle Greg Robinson is the most likely candidate to be replaced along the offensive front. This would appear to lead towards either McCray or Lamm being inserted into the starting lineup.
"A league source told cleveland.com last week that Robinson had either already been benched, or was in jeopardy of it happening, and McCray took reps at left tackle on Monday, as well as at right tackle and center (Mary Kay Cabot via Clevelanddotcom)"
The moves could be one, the moves could be three. However, going into a matchup with the best team and the best defense in the league is not a great recipe for success. “That’s my call,” Kitchens said about any potential move along the offensive front, and it is a call that he desperately needs to get right.
