In order to take your mind off facing the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in their upcoming matchup, here is a mock draft for the Cleveland Browns.

Even though it was a bye week for the Cleveland Browns in Week 7, it was not a quiet one for the brown and orange. Trade rumors, a Baltimore Ravens’ win, and more set the media ablaze, even though the polarizing likes of Odell Beckham Jr. and Baker Mayfield did not even take the field.

One of the trade rumors surrounding the Browns right now involves disgruntled Pro Bowl Washington offensive tackle Trent Williams.

While general manager John Dorsey admitted to attempts to acquire Williams while meeting with the media last week, Washington (led by owner Dan Snyder) are standing pat in their refusal to deal a player who has no intentions of playing for them ever again.

At this point, tackle remains at the top of the draft needs for the Browns, but they should not find themselves in a position to reach for one in the first round if the value does not add up.

The Browns still have 2019 sixth round pick Drew Forbes waiting in the wings who could come in and fill the hole at right tackle; it is not necessary to force an overvalued pick in the first round for the sake of filling a need.

As the Cleveland Browns prepare to take on the New England Patriots, here is a weekly mock draft following their bye week.
